A Powerful Promise of Hope

Jo Ann Fore is a popular blogger, certified Life Purpose Facilitator,  and author of When A Woman Finds Her Voice: Overcoming Life’s Hurts & Using Your Story to Make a Difference.

Passionate about women walking in freedom, Jo Ann leads women into full, free lives—lives of joy and purpose. While her own story is one of brokenness, it’s also a hope-filled story where God’s grace and mercy run deep.

With a willingness to step into the hard places, Jo Ann serves a powerful promise of hope to a woman’s heart, a hope strong enough to lead to lasting change. She often writes about the tough challenges today’s Christian women face—proving how God can use every piece of our lives, no matter how broken.

Jo Ann has been published in national and international magazines like Guideposts, Lifeway’s HomeLife, Christianity Today’s Just Between Us and Today’s Christian Woman,  Salvation Army’s Priority, Australia’s leading Christian Magazine, Alive, and many others. She uses her words to encourage women to:

  • Uncover faulty thoughts, replacing them with life-transforming truths
  • Move beyond deep-rooted hurts
  • Grasp the comfort of the sovereignty of God
  • Make changes that last

The “everyday” Jo Ann loves peppermint herbal tea and a great organic salad. She is a nerd with an insatiable appetite for words—an absolute book-freak and perpetual student. When her nose isn’t buried in a great book (or three), you can usually find her submerged in her favorite warm-water pool, traveling across the country, or hanging out with her five-year-old granddaughter. She and comedy-magician husband Matt live in the mountains of Tennessee, where she talks incessantly about her daughter Tabitha, and grandchildren Lacey and Nathaniel, to anyone who will listen.

Personal Story

Jo Ann well knows the taste of fear, the numbing silence of pain and trials. But she’s also held the hand of freedom. Savored the liberty to speak.

A tumultuous journey of childhood sexual abuse, life-threatening physical and emotional abuse in a former “Christian” marriage, and a 20-year bulimic struggle threatened to derail God’s purpose for Jo Ann’s life. With a shattered sense of safety, she learned to distrust God, making countless poor choices that stemmed from low self-esteem.

Over time, in the healing shadow of Jesus, Jo Ann addressed her unhealthy belief system. As she applied the truth of scripture to negative emotional thought patterns, she learned to think new thoughts about old experiences, learned to “retrain” her brain. Today, she uses her healed voice to tell others about God’s goodness and the plan He has for women to live a life of abundance, joy, and purpose.
